From Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador you can get to Guatemala from the Pan-American Highway. You can drive, or take a bus. There are also several ferries to and from Puerto Barrios and Livingston, and Punta Gorda, Belize. Once in Guatemala public transportation includes vibrantly decorated buses, a trolley service in Guatemala City that is targeted towards tourists, and some train service that is aimed at tour groups.
