A residential area in the borough of Southwark in southeast London, Rotherhithe is located on the south bank of the River Thames and forms part of the famous Docklands area. With a rich and long history as a port, the area had operational docks until just a few decades ago. It has since undergone a lot of improvement and regeneration, resulting in increased business and residential developments.
