About Ilford
Ilford is a town in north east London and the administrative centre of the London Borough of Redbridge. Located in what was traditionally considered to be part of the English county of Essex, Ilford grew as a commercial centre largely as a result of its position along the main road route between London and Colchester. Its commercial importance increased further with the introduction of the railways to London and the south east of England in the 19th century. Today, Ilford is a thriving, multicultural and extremely active part of suburban London and Redbridge. The town lies immediately east of the River Roding and the North Circular, and is close to a number of well-known and equally active parts of east London such as Barking, Romford, East Ham and Upton Park.
Setting up your business here
Ilford is populated by businesses of varying sizes, from local companies and service providers through to sizeable operators with international interests. Among the businesses with offices in the area are AAA Insurance Ltd, the software solutions and consultancy Xecore Ltd and the recruitment agencies Workers-Direct and Clark James. Offices in Ilford and Redbridge offer excellent links to more central districts of London, such as the City, the West End and all parts of Tower Hamlets and Islington. The area is well-served by trains and buses, while the M25, which connects London with the UK’s motorway network, is only a short drive east.

Things to do in Ilford
Things to do in Ilford include visiting the Redbridge Central Library and Museum, which has a good number and variety of exhibits and attractions running throughout the year. The town also has its own cinema complex in the shape of Cineworld Ilford, which is always popular with visitors, as indeed is the local high street, which is lined with both familiar and unfamiliar retail outlets. If you are keen for a full-scale retail experience then head a short way west and over to Stratford, where you’ll find the Westfield Shopping Centre, an entertainment and retail complex that draws visitors from across the country. For places to eat out in Ilford, you could try some local favourites such as the London Darbar restaurant, the Golden Curry or the Shinwari for some great Afghan and Persian cuisine. Meanwhile, if you’re looking for somewhere fun to have a drink or two in and around Ilford, try O’Neill’s Bar near the train station, IF on Ilford Hill, or the Papermakers Arms on Roden Street.
