About Camberwell
Camberwell is an artistic area of south London, in the London Borough of Southwark. Camberwell is first mentioned in the ancient manuscript called the Doomesday Book, and the name is thought to mean 'well of the Britons' in Celtic. Camberwell has a mixture of attractive period Georgian buildings, and modern purpose built houses and offices. The Salvation Army's impressive William Booth Memorial Training College is a major landmark which was finished in the 1930s. Camberwell has an established artistic population, predominately because world-renowned Goldsmiths Art College is located in the area. Until the onset of the Industrial Revolution, Camberwell was predominately a farming village. Although hit hard in World War II, Camberwell, today, has a bustling community and thriving shopping centre.
Setting up your business here
