A major town in the county of Lancashire, Blackburn is also the administrative centre of the area. Blackburn has a large Indian and Pakistani population, making it a culturally and ethnically diverse destination. Once a town with a flourishing textile mill, the town has undergone and continues to undergo significant development. Blackburn is home to a number of major landmarks including Blackburn Cathedral, Ewood Park, which is the home of Blackburn Rovers FC, Queen Victoria’s statue and the Town Hall. Wainwright Bridge linking Bolton Road to Barbara Castle Way, Blackburn Arena and Corporation Park are also great crowd-pullers in the town.

The M65 is a major motorway that runs through the town while other major roads like the A666 and A667 provide connectivity to Pendlebury for drivers, buses and taxis. Well connected road networks and coach services provide connectivity to other parts of the country while the West Coast Main Line from Blackburn Railway Station, provides links to Preston. Blackpool International Airport is the nearest link to air-travel for the town.
