Area Guide Knightsbridge
Home to some of Londonís world famous stores, Knightsbridge is one of the cityís most popular tourist destinations.
The area hosts Harrods as well as Hamleys, a well-known toy store, and the Queenís personal favourite Ė Harvey Nichols. Other big brands and businesses line its streets. Knightsbridge is one of the priciest places to live and work in London, and in 2014 the most expensive apartment in the world was sold here for a breath-taking £140 million.
Setting up your business here
Knightsbridge is predominantly a residential and commercial area, and is considered one of two international retail centres in the city. There are fantastic transport links in the area, and lots to do thanks to the range of luxury shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. For businesses looking for a moneyed area in which to find investment, Knightsbridge is the place to be.
Culture and Entertainment
You can happily while away a number of hours browsing through Harrods. A department store with a difference, it features some of the most expensive and exclusive items and brands in the world, as well as gorgeous seasonal displays. You donít even have to spend a lot of money to come away with something a little special; treat yourself to an inexpensive and delicious truffle in the food hall. The musical instrument department is like a museum, and we recommend testing out the fountain pens in the stationery department.
Japanese restaurant Zuma radiates glamour and sophistication. Nevertheless, the restaurant has an informal, clean and spacious look to it and features a sushi counter and robata grill.
Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Cafe is definitely one to visit if you are looking to enjoy a genuine Knightsbridge experience. Although the cafe is simply set within a department store, there is nothing typical about Harvey Nichols and youíll be amongst sumptuous surroundings and a level of luxury that other department stores canít replicate. The rooftop cafe and terrace has floor-to-ceiling windows shedding lots of natural light on the varied European menu.
