Area Guide Savile Row
Savile Row is a sophisticated part of London in the centre of the city, close to Regent Street.
Situated in the heart of Mayfair, the area is synonymous with luxury brands and more specifically, men’s tailoring. Some of the UK’s oldest and most famous tailoring companies are situated here, many of which have been for hundreds of years. This area is also home to the flagship stores of a number of London’s most expensive and luxurious stores, and thus attracts wealthier visitors and businesses than other areas of the city.
Setting up your business here
Because Savile Row is well-known throughout the world, basing your business here offers a touch of elegance and class to your reputation. The area is also very popular with a number of communications and PR companies, meaning that there are excellent business links and networking opportunities in the area.
Culture and Entertainment
A trip to Savile Row is not complete without taking in Fortnum & Mason, one of the most quintessentially British shops in London, and a favourite of the Queen. The shop usually features attractive window dressings and displays, so even if you are not looking to buy anything you can easily while away an afternoon here.
In fact, just browsing through the various shops can be fascinating, as so many of them have a unique history and beautiful architecture. However, if you do want to get away from the retail side of the area, Green Park is close by and is a great place to enjoy a lunch break on a warm day.
Eating out
The Windmill is a quirky, informal venue in which to enjoy a quick lunch and has a strong emphasis on traditional London pies. The pub serves pies to suit any tastes, and has two pie rooms as well as a pie club which regular customers can enjoy. This pub also serves real ales, providing a truly British experience guaranteed to get you coming back.
HIX Soho offers a more professional environment to enjoy business meetings and dinners, and has an upscale feel with modern decor and Damien Hirst mobiles. The bar serves sophisticated British cuisine and boasts a downstairs cocktail bar where customers can enjoy an evening drink before a night out.
