Area Information

Previously known as Grays Inn Lane, the historic Grays Inn Road is in the King’s Cross area of London. A clue as to the extent of the area’s history was given when in 1679 a hand axe was unearthed. Thought to be around 350,000 years old, the axe now has a home nearby, in the British Museum. There are also many historical attractions very close to Grays Inn Road, enabling visitors to delve into the past. Some of the places of historical interest include the Charles Dickens Museum, Conway Hall, Sir John Soane’s Museum and The Foundling Museum.
