Torre del Mar is a busy seaside town on the southern coast of Spain that offers tremendous views. This town has become a popular summer resort destination. The town has approximately 20,000 year round residents and is located in the Malaga province. While the town is a bustling tourist town with clubs, restaurants, and hotels along the beach, you can still find the rural part of Torre del Mar on the outskirts of town, where agriculture is an important part of the economy.
The main business of Torre del Mar is tourism and service industries. Hotels like the Hotel Miraya and Hotel Torremar as well as the restaurant La Cueva are well-known establishments in the area. From June to September the city goes from 20,000 to more than 150,000 residents as the tourists flood the seaside town. In addition to tourism, the area around Torre del Mar is primarily agricultural. Sugar cane has been the staple crop for decades due to the sub-tropical climate. Modern day farmers are moving to fill the need for specialty crops such as avocados, salad greens, kiwis, and mangos. In Torre del Mar there are many rentable serviced offices.

The long beachfront promenade called the Paseo Maritimo provides a perfect setting for hotels, restaurants, clubs, and shopping. The sandy beaches offers opportunities for activities like dolphin watching and water sports. Just walking along the 3 km (1 mile) long promenade is a favourite pastime with the ocean views, bandstand, fountains, and restaurants along the way. Just off the promenade is Ruta del Pomelo, a restaurant beloved by locals and tourists. For a reasonable rate, visitors to the restaurant can find excellent traditional Spanish food. In the middle of Torre del Mar, is another restaurant worth the trip, called La Brasserie, here you will find food and drink from Belgium.
To get to Torre del Mar via air, travellers use the Malaga Costa del Sol Airport. The airport serves as an international hub and is the fourth busiest airport in Spain. It is important to the tourism trade as it is the main airport for the Costa del Sol region. The airport provides service to more than 60 countries. The entire Costa del Sol area of Spain has great public transportation via train, tram and bus. The town is located on the major roadway, AP-7, which connects Torre del Mar with Gibraltar, Málaga, Murcia and Valencia.
