From June to September the city goes from 20,000 to more than 150,000 residents as the tourists flood the seaside town. In addition to tourism, the area around Torre del Mar is primarily agricultural. Sugar cane has been the staple crop for decades due to the sub-tropical climate. In the middle of Torre del Mar, is another restaurant worth the trip, called La Brasserie, here you will find food and drink from Belgium.

To get to Torre del Mar via air, travellers use the Malaga Costa del Sol Airport. The airport serves as an international hub and is the fourth busiest airport in Spain.
