Wellington is a village in Palm Beach County, Florida. Its territory spreads on thirty-one square miles, ninety-nine percent of which is land. The village is known for its parks, good schools, abundant neighborhoods, and horse-riding events.
In previous years, Wellington has been ranked as one of the best places to live in the United States. Wellington’s economy is focused on improvements in infrastructure, recreation programs, services and information, and technology. One of the companies, headquartered in the village is BE Aerospace. Entertainment And Dining Out
Wellington is well known for its equestrian activities. Examples include polo events, Winter Equestrian Festival and a Global Dressage Festival. Besides that, the village has a library, several recreation centers and public parks, the large regional Mall at Wellington Green, and cultural activities such as the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and the Norton Museum of Art. Several seasonal events and holiday parades are held in the village (i.e. Top Gun model aircraft show). Beach activities are a thirty minute drive, heading east to Palm Beache. The village has a variety of restaurants, offering diverse cuisine choices. Examples include: Stonewood Grill & Tavern, Olive Garden, and Wellington Chili’s.
Getting to Wellington is not difficult, as there are two airports within sixty miles distance. These are Palm Beach International Airport (located eleven miles from the village and providing domestic and international flights) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (located about fifty-two miles away). Wellington is bordered by State Route 80 and Florida State Road 7, which links the area with Miami.
