Tampa is a city in Florida State, in the United States. It is located on the west coast of Florida, beside Tampa Bay, near the Gulf of Mexico. This is the largest city in West-Central Florida. Tampa is part of the metropolitan area most commonly referred to as the Tampa Bay Area. Tampa has a vast number of professional sports teams. For instance there is a football team - the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a hockey team - the Tampa Bay Lightning, and an arena football team - the Tampa Bay Storm.
Tampa’s economy is dependant on the service, retail, finance, insurance, shipping, national defense, professional sports, tourism, and real estate industries. Many corporations maintain office space or facilities in Tampa, including OSI Restaurant Partners, WellCare Health Plans, Inc., TECO Energy, and Raymond James Financial. MacDill Air Force Base is a major employer in Tampa.

Channelside is a unique entertainment complex offering an IMAX movie theater, several upscale restaurants and mid-range chain restaurants and bars, and a very popular bowling alley. There is also the Florida Aquarium, which offers unique exhibits, a restaurant, touch tank, eco-tours of Tampa Bay, and interactive dive experiences. Dining options include Carmine’s Restaurant, featuring Cuban, Spanish, and Italian dishes. There is also the Jerk Hut (Jerk is a Jamaican term used to describe slow-roasting meats).
The closest airport is the Tampa International Airport (IATA:TPA) (ICAO:KTPA), situated near Tampa Bay along I-275. Saint Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (IATA:PIE) is an alternative situated only 25 miles away. There is train service via Amtrak’s Silver Service with daily access to/from New York City or Miami to Tampa. Tampa is easily accessible via the major interstate highways. The area is also served by bus lines. There are several cruise ships operating from Tampa, mostly to Caribbean islands and Mexico. Tampa also has the TECO Line Streetcar that runs from Whiting and Franklin Streets downtown to Centennial Park in Ybor City with several stops along the way. There is also an In-Town trolley.
