Mount Kisco is a community that is both a village and a town in Westchester County, in New York State. It is 11 miles north of White Plains and 34 miles north-east of New York City. The village of Mount Kisco has a total area of 3.1 square miles and lies within the humid continental climate zone, experiencing four distinct seasons. Mount Kisco was founded in 1850 shortly after the arrival of the railroad. It included two small settlements called Kirbyville and New Castle Corners. Kisco is derived from an Indian word –either kiskamenahook meaning “settlement near a brook” or cisqua meaning “a muddy place.” Mount comes from the 623-foot hill northwest of town.
Mount Kisco serves as the commercial hub of Northern Westchester, many of the shops and restaurants in the area cater to an affluent clientele and include designer clothing boutiques, luxury jewelers, home decor, and trendy eateries. In addition, Mount Kisco houses national chains such as Target, Gap, Staples, and others. There are many options for executive office space within the village.

Mount Kisco offers a variety of opportunities for recreation. Museums nearby include Belskie Museum of Art and Science, Norwalk Museum, and Danbury Museum and Historical Society, all of which have a number of exhibits on display. Bear Mountain State Park offers provisions for boating, swimming, and picnicking. The Maritime Aquarium and Bergen County Zoological Park have animals and birds of different species available for viewing. Air transportation is available from Westchester County Airport. Saw Mill River Parkwayis a main road that runs parallel to Mount Kisco and Interstae 684 also serves the area providing North and South access.
