El Segundo is a beach city in Los Angeles County, in the U.S. state of California. It is situated on Santa Monica Bay. El Segundo means ‘The Second’ in Spanish. The city’s borders are LAX airport, Manhattan Beach, and the Pacific Ocean.
Due to its proximity to LAX, El Segundo has many aviation-related and petroleum-related industries and operations. Companies with office space or other facilities in El Segundo include a Chevron Oil Refinery, Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and The Aerospace Corporation. El Segundo is also home to the Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC). Transportation options in El Segundo include hotel shuttle service to nearby Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). It is also served by the Metro Green Line and Amtrak’s El Segundo Bus Stop. The Los Angeles International Airport is located immediately north of El Segundo.
