City of Commerce, a Los Angeles suburb incorporated in 1960, has blossomed over the past five decades as a center of international trade, manufacturing and goods distribution. The city, usually referred to simply as Commerce, houses a population of 12,568 on slightly more than six an a half square miles of land. Located between Los Angeles and Rio Hondo rivers, City of Commerce offers easy access to destinations around the globe with its major rail yard and proximity to the Long Beach Freeway and the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.

The founders of City of Commerce established the city as a means of avoiding annexation by larger neighboring cities with high property taxes. The city was founded on pro-business, low-taxation principles, with a 240-table card room providing 46% of the city's annual revenue. This card room, the Commerce Casino, is the largest card room in the world and brings in numerous guests from around the country for poker tournaments. The proceeds from this casino have provided the city with numerous civic resources, including four libraries, two aquatic centers and the country's first free municipal transit service.

Office rentals in City of Commerce are a bargain due to the pro-business approach of the city government. Leases range between $300 and $750 per month. Many office buildings offer shared office space, in which office resources are shared between multiple occupants. These arrangements allow for occupants to utilize many more amenities than would otherwise be possible in a personal office space. Executive suites in City of Commerce offer the same high value as other spaces at a very reasonable cost. While amenities such as phone or internet may be separate in these locations, installation has already been taken care of for customers.

Several reputable shared office space providers have a presence in the City of Commerce region, including Regent Business Centers and Corporate Office Centers. These office rentals offer reasonable rates, yet provide the opportunity to host a business in a building with a professional demeanor, including reception and secretarial staff.

Due to the high demand of office space in City of Commerce, new developments started and are scheduled to open next July, and will add 256,000 square feet, further stabilizing these low prices. In addition, this will increase the moderate vacancy rate of approximately 10%, making space much more attainable for small businesses.
