The Leather District is a neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. The neighborhood is situated between Boston’s Financial District and Chinatown. Occasionally referred to as the ‘LD’ this area is bordered by Kneeland Street, Essex Street, Atlantic Avenue, and Lincoln Street. The Leather District got its name because historically the main industry in the area was leather.
