Chicago Lawn is one of the 77 community areas that make up the city of Chicago. It is located on the southwest side of the city. The community neighbors are Gage Park, West Englewood, Ashburn, and West Lawn. Chicago Lawn is bordered by Bell Avenue, Central Park Avenue, 59th Street, and 75th Street. The community is 8 miles (13 km) southwest of The Loop.
One of the major employers in the Chicago Lawn area is Nabisco, an American manufacturer of cookies and snacks. Nabisco’s plant in Chicago Lawn is the largest bakery in the world, employing more than 1,500 workers and turning out some 320 million pounds of snack foods annually.
