The main building of the New York Public Library is situated within the park and the park itself is a well-known model for the success of public-private partnerships. Bryant Park is built entirely over the underground structure housing the New York Public Library's archives and there are many amenities in the vicinity, including museums, banks and convenience stores. The Bryant Park Grill and Bryant Park Cafe are both popular after-work hangouts, and 'Wichcraft, the sandwich chain owned by Tom Colicchio, operates four kiosks throughout the park. In the 40th Street plaza of the park there is an area known as ‘Bryant Park Games’, where visitors can play a variety of games, including Chinese Chess and Quoits. Lady M Confections is a popular ice cream parlor, which is a hotspot in the summer months, and Koi has a Japanese-inspired menu, including sushi. Johnny Utah’s is a southwestern themed bar which is a favorite among the locals, and The Rum House features nightly piano performances and beautifully crafted cocktails in an intimate setting.
