Battery Park is a 25 acre public park situated at the Battery, the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City. It faces New York Harbor, and along the waterfront ferries travel to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, offering tourists an opportunity to get closer to these landmarks. A short walk from the park lies U.S. Customs House, now used as a branch of the National Museum of the American Indian. Battery Park itself is a beautiful and spacious park, which houses a memorial, a monument, Battery Park Gardens and various other attractions.
