Albany Park is located in Chicago, Illinois in the United States. It is one of 77 well-defined community areas, situated on the Northwest Side of the city. The community is situated about eight miles northwest of the Loop, and is surrounded on all sides by parkland. The official community of Albany Park is bounded by Foster Avenue and the North Branch of the Chicago River on the north, Montrose Avenue on the south, Elston Avenue on the southwest, and the North Branch of the Chicago River on the east. It is in Jefferson Township. The Albany Park neighborhood is one of the most ethnically diverse in the United States with a high percentage of foreign-born residents. Over 40 languages are spoken in the neighborhoods public schools. Residents have come from Mexico, Guatemala, India, Philippines, Ecuador, and Bosnia, just to name a few.
