Tudor City is an apartment complex located between East 43rd Street to the north and East 40th Street to the south, between First and Second Avenues in the borough of Manhattan. Tudor City features neo-Gothic architecture and is connected to Ralph Bunche Park. Besides the residential areas, it has restaurants, stores, garden parks, a hotel, and beautiful views of the Midtown skyline with the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building.

Business Information

The Tudor City buildings are a mixture of residential units and community parks known as Tudor City Greens. Tudor City consists of The Manor, The Cloister, The Hermitage, Tudor Tower, Windsor Tower, Hotel Tudor, Woodstock Tower and Essex House. It also features a deli, restaurants, a florist, a hair salon, dry cleaners, a grocery store and a post office. Today, many of the units are run by co-ops and include shared residential units and shared offices.

Entertainment And Dining Out

The Tudor City buildings are popular filming locations. However, they’re better known for their tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. There are several dining locations within a block or two of Tudor City. The Palm is an excellent fine dining experience that specializes in steak and lobster. For Japanese food, Sakagura is a local favorite. There are also humble, family-owned restaurants such as The Comfort Diner.

Transport Information

With Grand Central Station a few blocks to the west, the locality is easily accessed by the 4, 5, 6 and 7 train lines. It is located eight miles southwest of LaGuardia International Airport, which provides regional and international flights to Canada and the Caribbean isles. The area is also just 17 miles northwest of John F. Kennedy International Airport, which provides further regional and international flights to Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
