About Greenwich Village
Greenwich Village is a predominantly residential neighborhood in Lower Manhattan in the heart of New York City. The area is renowned for housing upper middle class families, and house prices have risen dramatically in the past decade. Greenwich Village used to be known as an artists’ haven, and although some artists have moved to different areas in the city, there are still many beautiful art galleries throughout the district. The Hudson River is a short walk from Greenwich Village, providing a tranquil escape from the busy city. There are countless independent restaurants in Greenwich Village, as well as various trendy bars. Banks and retail outlets can be found in the area, as well as cultural hotspots.

Greenwich Village is home to a diverse mix of people and businesses, and as such, there is an exciting range of activities and events taking place in the vicinity throughout the year. Each year on October 31, the New York's Village Halloween Parade takes place here; it is the largest Halloween event in the country, drawing an audience of two million. Washington Square Park is at the heart of the neighborhood, and the Village also has several other, smaller parks, including Father Fagan, Minetta Triangle and Petrosino Square. The Grey Art Gallery is notable for its exhibitions of contemporary art. There are many eateries and bars in close proximity, including Wine Spot, an after-hours chilled hangout, and The Dove, which specializes in craft beers and cocktails. Babbo is a popular Italian restaurant, and Alta is known for the variety of Spanish tapas that they serve to diners.
