The Lower East Side stretches east from the Bowery to the East River Park. It is bordered on the north by Houston Street and the south by Canal Street and East Broadway. Transport Information

Lower East Side transportation options include the subway, bus and taxi. The M9 bus runs downtown on Essex Street, the M15 runs both downtown and uptown on Allen Street, the M103 travels along Bowery, and the M21 bus runs cross-town along Houston Street. There are two international airports within an hour of the Lower East Side. They are LaGuardia International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport.
