Burbank, California is nestled within the San Fernando Valley surrounded by the Verdugo Mountains. Today, much of the aerospace industry has relocated, and Burbank is home to media giants such as Warner Brothers, PBS, and The Walt Disney Company. Many major movies, such as Casablanca and Shane, have been shot on the movie lots in Burbank. Studio tours are available daily. It's a great way to see some of the movies most famous memorabilia and maybe even a star or two. The Warner Bros. Museum features the piano from the movie Casablanca and the original Maltese Falcon.
While mostly an upper middle class city, Burbank has houses of many different sizes and is home to a divergent group of residents. Nightclubs, such as the Eye Candy Club, and a multitude of excellent restaurants add to the city's exciting nightlife. Burbank Town Center, one of the largest malls in Southern California, is a shopping Mecca. For a more intimate shopping experience, Magnolia Park has rows of beautiful antiques shops, small boutiques and friendly corner markets.
Each year, Burbank becomes a hub of floral activity as Burbank volunteers prepare for the Rose Bowl Parade. Millions of delicate blooms decorate over sixty floats while people prepare to watch one of the most viewed football games of the season.
Burbank's economy is largely based on the entertainment industry and ancillary companies that serve the industry.
