Located on the banks of the River Wharfe, the town of Wetherby lies in the county of Yorkshire. Throughout its history, the town was a major stopover in the journey from London to Edinburgh and still maintains that status today. The name of the town means “Settlement at the bend of a river”, which aptly describes its location. The town has a number of prominent landmarks of historical significance such as the Town Hall, the Angel Public House and The Shambles, all of which have been marked with Blue Plaques to signify their importance. Wetherby also has the distinction of being an international award-winning floral town.

The A1 motorway crosses the river just before the town while the A58 and A661 pass through the centre of Wetherby. Leeds Bradford International Airport offers the nearest access for air travel, while Leeds Railway Station provides commuters with access to the railway network. Cattal, Knaresborough, Garforth and Harrogate railway stations are all within easy reach as well.
