The town of Stevenage is located in the county of Hertfordshire, in the Borough of the same name. A small town till the 1940s, Stevenage gained prominence after 1946 when it was granted the status of a New Town. Stevenage is located between the garden cities of Letchworth and Welwyn. Numerous hit films such as Boston Kickout and Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush have been shot in the region. The popular British comedy series Saxondale was shot in the area. The region is very famous for its working farms and gardens that attract numerous visitors throughout the year. The more renowned ones are Church Farms and Benington Lordship Gardens.

Stansted is just 25 miles from Stevenage by road. The A1 motorway passes close to Stevenage, linking it to hundreds of destinations across the country. Cycles and buses are a convenient way to get around town.
