Area Guide Piccadilly Circus Tube Station

Situated within the City of Westminster, Piccadilly is an area in the heart of London. It is home to many of the cityís famous landmarks and attractions, including a lot of the nightlife.

Piccadilly houses a number of famous hotels and restaurants, along with plenty of high profile businesses and organisations. This locality is probably one of the most desirable areas in London thanks to being home to such iconic British institutions as Fortnum & Mason, the Ritz Hotel and the Royal Academy.

Setting up your business here

At the centre of the entertainment and retail portion of the city, Piccadilly has excellent transport links and a thriving passing trade. Being such a desirable location also means that there are more businesses moving into the area all of the time, creating ideal networking opportunities.

Culture and Entertainment

The National Portrait Gallery is a must-see. It houses a great selection of the most famous and extraordinary portraits of significant figures from throughout history. Works date back to the 15th century, starting with the Tudors and working through to present-day celebrities and public figures. Visitors will find the only surviving portrait of Shakespeare and the Hans Holbein cartoon of Henry VIII.

Piccadilly also sits right at the heart of Londonís Theatreland; a stroll through Soho will highlight the myriad of famous theatres. Leicester Square is often host to movie premieres, where visitors can catch a glimpse of their favourite stars.

Eating out

The Wolseley is popular with some of the more glamorous Londoners, and is often the venue for celebrity get-togethers or upscale business meetings. You are bound to impress if you take clients to afternoon tea at the Wolseley, taking in sophisticated nibbles and an array of drinks in fabulous art deco surroundings.

For a slightly more informal meal out, Restaurant Yoshino is typically London, with a contemporary, minimalist decor, featuring high ceilings and modern Japanese cuisine. This sushi restaurant has a great array of bento boxes and serves a more traditional Japanese menu for customers throughout the day.
