About Old Street Tube Station
As the name suggests, Old Street has ancient origins, with the area taking up some of a road which connected Silchester to Colchester during Roman times. The road has been popular and heavily traversed for centuries, and the area remains well populated today. The area has a good mix of history and modern technology, with Tech City, a Government-funded investment scheme, based here, as well as some more traditional attractions and sights. Bunhill Fields is a historical non-conformist burial ground, which contains the bodies of poet William Blake and writer Daniel Defoe amongst others.
