The village of Ripley is located in the Guildford district of Surrey. In spite of being a village, it boasts a booming local economy due to the presence of numerous cafes, antique stores, restaurants, theatres and art galleries in the region. Ripley Green is the most well-known landmark in the vicinity, home to the Ripley Cricket Club since the mid 1800s. In fact, cricket has been played here for more than two centuries, making it a notable venue for the sport. Numerous local events are hosted here throughout the year, bringing in thousands of people from all over the country. These include the Talbot Inn, the Sadlers Arms and the Seven Stars. Drake’s restaurant is the top rated eatery in the area, owned and managed by celebrity chef Steven Drake. The restaurant is Michelin-starred and is definitely worth visiting. Other places serving delectable food that are well worth trying are Toby Cottage for traditional British fare and The Anchor Pub for Thai dishes.
Clandon train station is the closest railhead in the area, accessible by bus and road. Numerous destinations in Surrey can be accessed from here. If you wish to travel onwards to London, you can get access to direct train services from Woking or Guildford Stations, both of which are a short bus ride away.
