Mansfield is a town in the county of Nottinghamshire and is also a part of the Mansfield Urban Area. Surrounded by the Maun Valley, the town has a distinct urban-setting and is also categorized as a small city. A place that relied on the coal-mining and textile industries in the past, Mansfield has a rich industrial as well as general history. It is also the only town in the county to have a directly appointed mayor.
