Things to do in Kilburn
Kilburn has a range of attractions available for people of all ages, including the Gaumont State Cinema building, which was previously a landmark architectural design, and it now houses a bingo hall. The Tricycle Theatre is a renowned arts centre and is home to a gallery, cinema and theatre. The theatre presents many international documentaries and films, often in a foreign language with English subtitles. It also hosts social and educational events. "The Animals WW1 memorial dispensary" is located on Cambridge Avenue. The building itself dates back to the early 1930s and it treated over 6,000 animals in its first year. The front of the building has a large bronze plaque above the door as a memorial to animals killed in World War 1. The building adjacent is one of the only surviving London examples of a "Tin Tabernacle" from 1863, which is currently used by a local Arts charity. This very unusual building is Grade II listed and is open to the public on Saturdays. There are plentiful eateries in the vicinity, including Little Bay, an intimate and quirky restaurant, which has an extensive internationally inspired menu.
