About Kentish Town

Kentish Town is an area of North-West London and is situated in the London Borough of Camden. Kentish Town has always been noted for its pubs and bars. Renowned music pubs include the Bull and Gate which featured early performances by Blur, The Housemartins, Suede and PJ Harvey. The Assembly House is a Grade II listed pub on Kentish Town Road, which proves to be a favourite among locals and professionals. The area is home to The Forum. For many years it was one of Kentish Town's most popular and comfortable cinemas and now it is a live music venue. The Kentishtowner, founded in 2010, is North Londonís only daily online magazine, which casts a wry look at the area's arts and entertainments scenes, and features contributions from a wide range of broadsheet journalists and readers. In the last five years Kentish Town has become famous for its art galleries, studios and creative spaces. Most notable are Spring Studios, the Zabludowicz Collection, the Beardsmore Gallery, photographer Rankin's Annroy and Leighton Space. Torriano Avenue is home to The Torriano Poets, a beacon of culture where local poets have met for over 20 years and still hold weekly public poetry readings on Sunday evenings.
