About Herne Hill
Herne Hill is a popular district in south London which lies approximately four miles from Charing Cross and is bordered by Brixton, Dulwich and Camberwell. Its great ambience has encouraged a range of independent shops, galleries, restaurants and bars to appear in the area which was once home to art critic, John Ruskin, and the British theatre family, the Lupinoís. The area attracts many first-time buyers and young families who work in the City, as well as the local areas. Sited close to Herne Hill is Brockwell Park; a large area incorporating walled gardens, duck ponds and a miniature railway, along with Herne Hill Velodrome, one of the only remaining cycle racing tracks in London.
