The Welsh town of Ebbw Vale is the administrative centre of the borough of Blaenau Gwent. At the end of the 18th century this was just a tiny settlement with a population of around 120. Over the centuries the town has grown to house a large population. The Industrial Revolution had a lot to do with the town’s growth, and it became known for industries such as mining and steel.
