About Central London

Central London covers a large area within England’s capital city, with plenty of culture, history and entertainment to maintain the interest of tourists and residents alike. Each district has its own unique charm and character, where businesses thrive and the sights and attractions offered are always busy. There are many museums, galleries and places of historical and cultural interest to choose from, including Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, and some of London’s famous open spaces include Hyde Park and Regent’s Park. The area is seeing great improvement through The London Plan – an ongoing spatial development strategy, due to end in 2031. The objectives aim to improve the general health of Londoners, to strive for equal opportunity, as well as to improve various economic and social issues.

Things to do in Central London

London is one of the world’s most famous cities, thanks to the many sights and attractions it has to offer. From Nelson’s Column, famously guarded by four lion statues at its base, at Trafalgar Square, to The Tower of London and Big Ben – England’s capital city is full of history, culture and beautiful architecture. For those keen on art and culture, there is no shortage of museums and art galleries; The Tate Modern, The National Gallery, The Victoria and Albert Museum and The British Museum are some of London’s world-famous attractions, as well as the Natural History Museum, The Science Museum and the Saatchi Gallery. The London Eye, located on the South Bank of the River Thames, provides spectacular views over London, and a stroll along Embankment by the Thames is ideal for post-work downtime. London’s West End has many theatres to choose from – whether you prefer a play, a musical, or a comedy – there are evening and matinee performances, and many restaurants will offer a pre-theatre menu. For lunchtime or evening entertainment, the restaurants, bars and pubs are diverse, from Ottolenghi – a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant in Islington, Berners Tavern in Soho, Nobu – fine Japanese cuisine in Berkeley Street, to the Bull & Last Gastro pub on Archer Street, or Burger and Lobster in various locations across London. There are bars and pubs suitable for a drink with clients in Mayfair, or head to Soho for a more informal setting for drinks with colleagues or friends. Hotels, such as the W Hotel, the Charlotte Street Hotel, or the One Aldwych boutique hotel, also make great venues for post-work drinks.
