A large, vibrant district in the south east of London, Bromley is situated in the Borough of Bromley and is the administrative centre for the area. Once a simple market town, Bromley has enjoyed expansion and development, partly due to the opening of a railway station in the mid 1800s, which was the start of Bromley becoming the commercial and retail hub that it is today. Positioned just over 9 miles from Charing Cross, Bromley is an area that boasts a rich and varied history as well as diverse culture. There are a number of historic landmarks in the area, including Bromley College, with its beautiful mature gardens. As an affluent area, Bromley is also home to a variety of gated communities.
As a commercial and retail hub, Bromley has a diverse range of businesses that occupy its retail and office space. The High Street here is pedestrianised and is home to a shopping mall, The Glades. A number of popular retailers are based here such as Gap, Waterstone’s and Oasis. Other business types here include financial services, graphic designers, photographers, recruitment agencies, legal service providers, and accountants to name but a few. Adecco Recruitment is based in the town along with Bethune International Beauty School, Alex Reade Motorsports and Railway Management Services.
