Bognor Regis is a town in the county of West Sussex and a major seaside resort. Originally called Bognor, when it was just a village, the town has seen considerable growth with tourism boosting the economy considerably. The suffix of “Regis” was added after King George V stayed at Craigwell House, which is still a popular attraction today. The town is home to a sizable Butlin’s Holiday Resort, which attracts thousands of people every year with its range of accommodation, private beach and swimming pools. Hotham Park and St. Wilfrid are two major landmarks in the town.
Despite tourism being the biggest source of income, Bognor Regis has a number of serviced offices and stores that house a number of local businesses. There are accountants and financial advisors alongside home utility workers, interior decorators and counselling services. Core Media Design Ltd. is one of the many graphic design firms in the area while a number of taxi companies, jewellery designers, waste-disposal firms, landscape architects and lawyers have offices in and around the area.

The town is a major resort and has a number of venues to entertain the wide variety of people who come to the area. Along with the facilities at Butlin’s Holiday Camp, Alexandra Theatre has a stage for a variety of plays and performances. The Picturedrome has the largest cinema screen on the southern coast of England while festivals like International Bognor Birdman also pull in the crowds. From Indian food at Cardamom Bay to Mediterranean cuisine at Smuggler’s Paradise, and from Nepalese cooking at Royal Gurkha to Thai curries at Tup Tim Siam, there is something to suit every palate in Bognor Regis.
Bognor Regis railway station offers commuters a route to London along the West Coastway Line. Bus and coach services have the convenience of using the A29 to London, the A272 to Billingshurst or the A259 to Folkstone. Southampton Airport is the closest flight link to Bognor Regis, while London Gatwick and London Heathrow Airports are also close by.
