The town of Bushey is situated in the borough of Hertsmere, in Hertfordshire. Historically an agricultural village, there is evidence of settlements from the Paleolithic Period in the area. The opening of the railway in the 1900s led to massive development in the region, with numerous industries being set up here. The availability of jobs led to the creation of new housing in the area. During the 1950s and thereafter, the town became popular as a favourite filming destination, with numerous films such as Nuns on the Run, Lucky Jim, and Out of Bounds being shot here. More recently, several editions of the Harry Potter films were also shot in the vicinity. The Bushey Festival is a major draw in the region, bringing in visitors from across the country.

Bushey is the main railway station in the area, providing access to services on the Watford DC Line. Access to London Midland services between London and Tring can also be caught from here. Several bus routes serve the area and coaches provide connectivity to various destinations in London. Heathrow Airport is the closest international airport for domestic and worldwide transfers.
