Cavendish Square is an upmarket area in The City of Westminster in London's West End and is very close to Oxford Circle, where the famous Oxford Street and Regent Street shopping thoroughfares intersect. Cavendish Square is named after Henrietta Cavendish-Hollace, the wife of the Second Earl of Oxford, for whom the square was laid out in 1717 by John Prince as part of the development of the Earl's London estate.
