The area is characterised primarily by its large garden squares and many buildings listed as having cultural or historic significance. Famous former residents of the area include British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, novelist Joseph Conrad and the actor Laurence Olivier.

Things to do in Pimlico
One great thing to do in Pimlico is to simply walk along the banks of the River Thames as it snakes through the city, alongside Grosvenor Road at the southern edge of the district. A cultural highlight in the area is the Tate Britain, one of the most popular and renowned museums in London, which houses exhibitions of historic and contemporary art throughout the year. Plus there are numerous other great museums a short distance from Pimlico in South Kensington, where youíll find the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Albert Hall. Pimlico isnít as famous for its restaurants and bars as neighbouring Belgravia or Sloane Square but there are plenty of friendly and sophisticated eateries and pubs to choose from.
