The main airport for international flights to and from Buenos Aires is Ezeiza International Airport. It is located 35 km (20 miles) south of the city’s centre. Most domestic access to the neighbouring countries of Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, and Paraguay typically utilises the smaller Aeroparque Jorge Newbery airport. This airport is a short distance from downtown Buenos Aires. From the airport, there are taxis, private cars (remises), buses, and minibuses for transportation to Buenos Aires. Public transport in the area includes the metro (or underground railway) which is called the ‘Subte’ - short for Subterraneo. The network provides access to most tourist attractions of the city.
