All flights, national and international, to and from Hyderabad, operate from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. This is a new airport located at Shamshabad, 22 km from the city centre. This new airport has replaced the former Begumpet Airport. The South Central Railway is one of the 16 railway zones in India. It is headquartered at Secunderabad. Hence we will find many trains from major cities of India to Hyderabad. The city also has the third largest bus station facility in Asia, with 72 platforms for 72 buses to load passengers at a time.
