Handel House Museum (23-25 Brook Street, W1K 4HB) was once the home of baroque composer, George Frideric Handel. The Georgian house has been beautifully restored and offers an insight into the life of Handel, and occasionally live music performances. For a more modern alternative the White Cube Mason’s Yard (25-26 Mason’s Yard, St James’s SW1Y 6BU) showcases contemporary British art in the first free-standing building the area has seen in three decades.
