Basinghall Street (EC2V) is located in the City of London’s financial district, also known as the Square Mile. For centuries this area has been a stronghold for foreign exchange markets, and financial institutions that are highly regarded by the global economy. Basinghall Street itself runs parallel to Aldermanbury Street and Coleman Street, stretching from Gresham Street, to the junction of Aldermanbury Square and Basinghall Avenue.
The closest tube station to Basinghall Street is Moorgate Tube (Northern, Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith and City Lines), which is 300m away. Also located close by is Bank (DLR), Mansion House (Circle and District Lines), and St Pauls (Central Line). With such convenient links to other areas in the City of London, and more central locations, Basinghall Street is a desired location for businesses and companies.

At present, there are a number of new builds taking place on Basinghall Street, including office developments, such as City Place House (55 Basinghall Street), meaning that new office space will soon be available. The existing businesses located here include educational institutes, financial advisors, and restaurants. Businesses that would benefit from renting office space on Basinghall Street include those associated with finance and banking, food and drink companies, and those within the educational sector. Rental prices start at around £350 per workstation, with a number of additional facilities included.
Basinghall Street itself has a number of cafes and restaurants, including lunch time favourites, Cafe Vita at number 14, and Eat at number 15. However, if you are looking for an evening meal, then try Fuego City Circle (10 Basinghall Street EC2), a quality tapas restaurant, which turns into a bar/club later on in the night. There are a number of other restaurants located nearby, including One Moorgate Place (EC2R 6EA), a European restaurant serving some of the best seasonal lunches in EC2.
If its a post work drink you’re after, then you may have to take a stroll for a few minutes as Basinghall Street itself does not have any pubs located on it. However, The Swan (77 Gracechurch Street, EC3V 0AS) is a nearby, cosy pub, with bars on the ground floor and first floor. Another traditional pub is the Flying Horse (52 Wilson Street, EC2A 2ER) which offers a bit more personality than some of the City bars in the surrounding area. If you want a whole host of entertainment to choose from, the the Barbican Centre is only a 7 minute walk away.
Located next to Basinghall Street is Guildhall Yard, home to The Guildhall, which acts as the City of London’s town hall and ceremonial centre. The venue can also be hired for private functions such as weddings. The Guildhall Art Gallery (EC2P 2EJ) also houses London’s collection of 17th, 18th, and 19th century art work, and a 2,000 year old amphitheatre.
