Located in London’s inner-city district of Islington, Angel (EC1 and N1) is both a commercial and residential neighbourhood. The unusual name of Angel is derived from The Angel Inn public house, built around 1665, which has been cited in literary pieces such as Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist. With so much to choose from along Upper Street alone, remember to branch out around the surrounding areas of Angel for attractions such as the famous Sadler’s Wells contemporary dance and music venue (Rosebery Avenue EC1R 4TN), which has been entertaining Londoners and tourists since 1920. Today, Sadler’s Wells brings the best national and international dance, opera, theatre, and music to the area. On the other end of the spectrum is Freightliners Farm (N7 8PF), and urban farm housing some rare birds and animals.
