It has been reported that the iconic and inspiring Centre Point skyscraper in London’s West End is set to become luxury, multi-million pound flats.
Currently, Centre Point is a highly sough-after office space location which boasts excellent transport links and panoramic views of the capital. It’s thought that the very top of the skyscraper will house these luxury flats, thus making the most of the spectacular views.
The renovation plans are being lead by Mike Hussey, property developer, who also intends to create shops and restaurants at the office tower’s base. However, plans need to be verified by Camden Council as Centre Point is a listed building.
In an interview with the Evening Standard Newspaper, Mr Hussey said, “We are trying to revive a 1960s icon. It was an icon, but a flawed icon and we think residential is the best use to maintain its long-term future”. However, it’s likely that some of the companies that currently rent office space at Centre Point may appose the plans which are believed to be submitted within the next two months.
Last October, Search Office Space awarded it’s coveted Business Centre Excellence Award to Centre Point for it’s superb services, convenient location and quality customer services. Office space providers, Targetspace, who are responsible for 35,000sqft of serviced office space were also highly commended for this achievement.
Search Office Space will be sure to bring you all the news surrounding Centre Point’s redevelopment plans as they happen, so make sure you keep an eye on the Blog for more information.
