Dubai Downtown is a large complex in Dubai, within the United Arab Emirates. It covers an area of two square kilometres (over a mile square), and is populated with more than 100,000 inhabitants. It is often referred to as Downtown Dubai, or its previous name which was Downtown Burj Dubai. Some of Dubai’s most important landmarks are in this area, including the Dubai Fountain, Burj Khalifa, and the Dubai Mall. Neighbouring communities to Dubai Downtown include the Business Bay, Al Wasl, Zabeel 2, and Trade Centre 2.
Commercial properties in Downtown Dubai include the offices of Burj Khalifa spread across 13 floors, the two commercial high-rise towers of Boulevard Plaza and suites found at Emaar Square, and Burj Place. The Dubai Mall is one of the best known shopping malls in the Middle East and occupies most of the district. International companies with office space or other facilities in the area include Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, IBM, CNN, BBC, and Reuters.

Downtown Dubai has a lot to offer in terms of sights and activities. Main points of interest include Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall the tallest building and the biggest mall in the world respectively. The Dubai Fountain and the Burj Khalifa Lake are also popular sights. Downtown Dubai has a variety of restaurants offering diverse cuisine options. Downtown Dubai is easily reachable by plane, as it is only 9 km (6 miles) from Dubai International Airport. It is serviced by Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station, which provides access to the Red Line of the Dubai Metro. The Dubai Mall Terminus is the main bus station with links to the 27, 29 and F13 routes. Taxi services are also readily available throughout Downtown Dubai.
