Garbsen is a young town in the district of Hanover and part of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Leine. Garbsen is a suburb of Hanover, situated just 11 km (6 miles) northwest of Hanover.

Within minutes of Hanover, Garbsen is right next to the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Transporter (VWN) factory. This is the biggest employer in the region. Hanover Airport is the closest airport to Garbsen. It is 18 km (11 miles) from the town to the airport. The E30 is a major national highway with junctions at the edge of town. Bahnhof Hannover – Ledeburg is the nearest train station, it offers routes throughout Germany and has connections to the rest of Europe.
