Sophia Antipolis is a technology park located northwest of Antibes and 26 miles southwest of Nice in France. The residential community of Garbejaire is located within the technology park. This community has an open-air mall at its heart, with a post office, bakery, hairdresser, chemist and restaurants. Within walking distance there are also two supermarkets, two hotels, and a church. Garbejaire has a small park with a play area for children. There is also a large communal corporate dining facility that is shared by several companies, located on the edge of the community.
The technology park in Sophia Antipolis has a large list of tenants. In January 2011 this list included 1260 corporations that helped to create over 25,000 jobs. A partial list of companies includes 3Roam, Accenture, Air France, Altran Praxis, Amadeus, and American Express Business Travel. The technology center of Sophia Antipolis has many options for shared offices. This technology park primarily houses companies in the fields of computing, electronics, pharmacology, and biotechnology. Several institutions of higher learning are also located here, along with the European headquarters of W3C. Intel in Sophia Antipolis is home to the Intel Worldwide Telecom Certification and Engineering Team.
Entertainment And Dining Out
The Sophia Antipolis Country Club is located in the regional park. It is near the Cannes-Mougins Golf Club, Biot Golf Club, and Musee National Fernand Leger. Local attractions also include Opio Valbonne Golf Club. This country club offers two outdoor swimming pools, a restaurant, a golf course, and a full-service spa. Le Club is the poolside brasserie offering lunch and dinner.
Several bus routes run through the technology park connecting it to the surrounding towns and cities. There is also a bus station. The nearest international airport is in Nice. E80 and E74 connect Sophia Antipolis with surrounding towns and cities and along the coastline.
