Entertainment And Dining Out
In Rungis one of the most popular things to do is to take a guided tour of the market. The guide leads you through five pavilions, including the oil, meat, dairy, vegetable, and flower sections. The tour begins at 4:30 in the morning, and you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel. The market tour is done between the hours of five and eight in the morning. You are provided with a plastic smock, and have the option for a country breakfast that is served onsite at the market. A la Maree is an oasis of fine seafood. You’d have no clue that you were in an industrial park. The restaurant is pavilion-like with a lovely outdoor area screened by trees and shrubbery. Frequented by locals, the portions are large and the menu is French.
The best way to get to Rungis is by car. The Orly Airport is within two miles of Rungis, at the junction of the A6 and RN7. The Rungis – La Fraternelle station is on Paris RER line C.
