Rijswijk is a small town and municipality in the Province of South Holland in the Netherlands. This town is a suburb of The Hague. The name comes from a type of wood that used to grow in the area ’rijshout’ and the medieval word for settlement ’wijc’. The municipality of Rijswijk includes the villages ’t Haantje and Sion. This beautiful Dutch town offers an Old Church, which dates from the 15th century AD. The church was built on an old Roman Chapel that dates from around 1200 AD.
The suburb of The Hague serves as a bedroom community for many of the surrounding cities. There are several options for executive suites in the city. There is train service between Rotterdam (Centraal) and Den Haag (Centraal), stopping at Rijswijk along the way. There is also tram and bus service, as well as easy access from the roadways. You can travel to and from Rijswijk from Den Haag or Delft on an antique ‘salonboot!’
